How image information works
Before editing or uploading an image, check its pixel dimensions, browser-reported file type and file size. These basics help explain why an upload may be rejected or why an image looks soft in a large placement. The inspector leaves the file untouched.
The browser reads the selected file and decodes its dimensions without sending it to the site. It displays width, height, file size and MIME type. For security investigations or authenticating an original image, use a dedicated forensic tool instead of relying on a filename or MIME label.

- Select a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
- Adjust the available controls for your task.
- Process and download the output. Keep the original as a backup.
Formats and limits
File names and browser MIME labels are not forensic format verification. Input decoding depends on your browser. Files are limited to 25 MB each and 40 megapixels to protect browser memory.
Privacy
The processing code runs locally in your browser. This tool does not upload the selected image to Do The IMG. Avoid sharing downloaded files if they contain sensitive content.
