How remove image metadata works
Many image files include camera, location or editing metadata that you may not want to share. This tool exports a fresh still image from the decoded pixels, leaving embedded EXIF fields out of the new canvas-generated file. Check your output with a trusted metadata inspector for high-risk sharing.
The source is decoded to pixels and re-encoded in the browser. The code does not copy EXIF tags, comments or the original metadata block. Re-encoding may also change color profiles and encoding quality, and animation is not supported by this still-image workflow.
Steps
- Select a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
- Adjust the available controls for your task.
- Process and download the output. Keep the original as a backup.
Formats and limits
The resulting file is a new still image; animation, color profiles and metadata are discarded. Input decoding depends on your browser. Files are limited to 25 MB each and 40 megapixels to protect browser memory.
Privacy
The processing code runs locally in your browser. This tool does not upload the selected image to Do The IMG. Avoid sharing downloaded files if they contain sensitive content.

Does it remove GPS coordinates?
Common embedded EXIF GPS fields are not copied into the canvas export. Verify important files independently.\nWill the pixels remain identical? | Not always. Re-encoding and color handling can alter pixels slightly.
