How to compress images online?
Format behavior: JPEG and WebP are re-encoded with the selected quality. PNG quality is controlled by the browser's PNG encoder and may not reduce file size. SVG input is optimized as vector markup; its shape paths are retained. Animated GIF input is converted from its first displayed frame to a still JPG, so this workspace does not preserve GIF animation. Use GIF Maker when the output must move. A target-size request may resize and export a JPG, including for PNG or SVG sources.
- Click the "Select images" button or drag and drop your files into the box.
- Adjust the "Compression Quality" slider if you want a specific file size reduction.
- Click "Compress IMAGES" and wait for the process to finish directly in your browser.
- Download your optimized images individually or as a ZIP file!
Is it secure to compress images here?
The image operation runs in your browser and does not require an image upload to our application server. Keep your original file and inspect the downloaded result; some formats and third-party libraries have their own limitations.

About Compress Image
Large images slow down pages, email attachments and everyday sharing. This compressor gives you a quality control for photographic images without sending the source to a server. JPEG and WebP inputs are re-encoded as JPEG; PNG inputs are saved as WebP so a quality setting can have a meaningful effect.
How the browser tool works
The browser decodes the selected image, paints its pixels to a canvas and exports a new file at your chosen quality. Compare the displayed output size with the original, and try several settings if the first result is not small enough. Lower quality generally produces fewer bytes and more visible artifacts around fine edges.
How to use it
- Choose a supported source file in the workspace above.
- Adjust the available options and inspect the preview or settings.
- Process the image and examine the downloaded file at its intended size before publishing.
Limits and privacy
The output depends on the source image and browser encoder; an exact size is not guaranteed.
The workspace works locally in your browser; selected source images are not sent to this site's application server. Some features load third-party code from a CDN, and large images may run out of device memory. Keep a backup of your original.

This quality slider exports PNG inputs as WebP. Use Convert to PNG for a lossless PNG export; its file size may be larger.\nWill this reach an exact file size? | No. The encoder output depends on the image content and browser. Adjust quality and check the resulting size.
