What is EXIF metadata?

EXIF metadata is information commonly stored inside image files, such as camera model, capture date, lens settings and sometimes GPS coordinates.

Why should I check EXIF?

Metadata can be useful for photographers and workflows, but GPS and other identifying information may reveal details you do not want to share publicly.

About EXIF Viewer

Inspect camera and metadata tags found in a selected image. Inspect camera model, exposure and possible location fields before posting a photo publicly.

How the browser tool works

The viewer parses metadata fields present in the selected image on your device. Fields can be absent, modified or inaccurate; a display of EXIF is not proof of authenticity. Files are processed in the browser workspace; compare the preview and the actual downloaded result.

How to use it

  1. Choose a supported source file in the workspace above.
  2. Adjust the available options and inspect the preview or settings.
  3. Process the image and examine the downloaded file at its intended size before publishing.

Limits and privacy

Not every image contains EXIF, and metadata can be edited by others.

The workspace works locally in your browser; selected source images are not sent to this site's application server. Some features load third-party code from a CDN, and large images may run out of device memory. Keep a backup of your original.

Questions about EXIF Viewer

Will every image show GPS coordinates?

No. Many images do not contain GPS metadata, and some apps remove it on export.

Does it change my source file?

No. The browser creates a separate result for download. Keep the original if you may need another adjustment.
