Pixelate images online

Pixelation groups nearby pixels into larger blocks to create a mosaic, retro or censor-style appearance. Smaller pixel sizes create a finer effect; larger sizes create stronger blocks.

Privacy

The normal pixelation workflow runs in your browser. Your source image is not uploaded to the Do The IMG server.

About Pixelate Image

Create a blocky mosaic style with adjustable pixel size. Create mosaic artwork, retro graphics or low-resolution previews with adjustable block size.

How the browser tool works

The browser shrinks the image representation and draws it back at its original dimensions without smoothing, making pixel blocks visible. Small blocks retain more detail; large blocks hide more of the scene. Files are processed in the browser workspace; compare the preview and the actual downloaded result.

How to use it

  1. Choose a supported source file in the workspace above.
  2. Adjust the available options and inspect the preview or settings.
  3. Process the image and examine the downloaded file at its intended size before publishing.

Limits and privacy

Pixelation alone is not a reliable method of redacting sensitive data.

The workspace works locally in your browser; selected source images are not sent to this site's application server. Some features load third-party code from a CDN, and large images may run out of device memory. Keep a backup of your original.

Questions about Pixelate Image

Can pixelation securely hide personal information?

No. Use a solid opaque cover or crop the sensitive region completely for redaction.

Does it change my source file?

No. The browser creates a separate result for download. Keep the original if you may need another adjustment.
